Monster 110-220 Transformer

In the fullness of time I'll be visiting Tim. I'll pick it up before then and take it up if you want. Unless Tim wants something smaller, that is. I've got one 5kVA 240/110CTE tranny at home and another available at work that aren't doing much at the moment. I had been thinking of using them to build a soft started phase converter (240+110+55=405), but there are probably better ways to waste space and heat the workshop.

I could pick the tranny up sometime in the next fortnight if needed.

The tentative plan is to run a couple of machines via inverters from single phase 440-ish input. OK, if there are no taps I'll get 480-ish output but AFAIR the inverter I have in mind will accept that. Biggest motor is 7.5 hp, so 5kVA might be a bit marginal, especially so if running more than one machine.

That might be very handy

Thanks

Tim

Did not make it in time. So the tranny is still there.

Did manage to drop some bits off for Peter.

Adrian

No, I didn't write that

Thanks for the thought

Cheers Tim

I toyed with the idea of chucking it in the van this morning, but we had to go to the shotblasters then the painters and in the end I wouldn't have made it back before you called.

Which was very much appreciated! thanks, Adrian.

I may have another visit down that way either end of week or next week.

I will try to provide a bit more notice, if I get to know sooner that is!

Richard seemed to look at the items as if to say "Why would we want these?"

All I can say is thank god for satnav systems although that woman does get annoying at times!

Cheers

Adrian
