New Brazing Hearth

I am working towards starting to build a vertical boiler in copper which will be brazed. It is about 10" high One kind member has already shown me his boiler build in a sequence of photos

I was thinking of building something up using Celcon Thermo blocks with a base two sides & a back.

What do members think of this, will it be Ok or are ther any other cost effective alternatives?

Mike?

Don't Celcon Thermo blocks have a front and a top too?

I'll try tryping this but I am still giggling........

I use ordinary fire hearth bricks. They come in a couple od sizes 2' x 2' and 1' x 1'. Not bought any recently but they may be cheaper.

I use Thermolite. It works fine, and being light weight isn't a pain to heft around.
