Tank Manufactures

Continuning my search for parts, I now need to find suggestions for a company that could build be a tank. It needs to be about 60L capacity, with flat plates on the ends so that I can attach all sorts of plummbing. It needs to have a working capacity of 1000psi. I was thinking of something like this

Ideally I want someone to build it and pressure test it. I don't trust mine or my mates welding enough to do it myself!!

Thanks

60L? - that's about a Z! - Now that is what I call scary.

I would have thought flat plates welded to tube was a bad idea for a pressure vessel and that's why gas cylinders are typically domed (inwards or outwards) at the ends? (Speaking from utter ignorance on the subject - which hasn't stopped me before).

Make the plates thick enough and it will be fine :-)

Weight isn't an issue as this is just for use on the ground.

The pressure equipment regulation are difficult to comply with...BUT proving you comply is not only a head ache, it's also a legal necessity......

For this sort of high pressure equipment professional help is a must...

You will need design certification, welding done by coded welders, traceable materials...

Change anything once it's made and it has to be re certified and tested.

Flat plates and high pressures are not a good mix.

I hope you have deep pockets... :-(

For this sort of pressure I would go to a specialist. I wouldn't want it directly in the workshop either but in a seperate shed or building.

It will never be filled in the workshop, it's a run tank for static testing a rocket motor, so no one will ever be near it when it's pressurised.
