I've just been building up the thrust faces of a bronze gearbox spacing collar, using Oxy-Acetylene and Eutectic 185FC filler, trying to avoid melting the flange edges in the process, and wondering whether it would have been easier using the TIG? I've got a little 160A TIG inverter by can't pretend to be an expert in its use, can anyone advise on the basis of real world experience of such things? I know there are specialist welding groups which could probably give a wealth of advice, but thought I would ask the ordinary mortals here first
