The mills come in CNC and CNC-ready versions as well as manual, the lathes would require some retrofitting but could possibly be converted to CNC use. They are made in the USA, and are much nicer machines than the Chinese mini-mills, although they're a bit more money. They were designed to cut steel and aluminum, and plastics are no problem for them (I prefer to use acetyl plastic, which can be cut without gunk building up on the cutter.) Wood can be cut as well, although most wood projects tend to be larger than these miniature tools' part envelopes will accomodate. I'm a Taig dealer, and have some of their machines in stock, as well as accessories and compatible software.]
