I've working with optical fibres made from PMMA(perspex). I'd like to mark the ends to distinguish them from each other, but having difficulty finding something that won't also dissolve/damage the fibre.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated
PMMA optical fibres would normally have a Teflon coating on the outside so it should be difficult to damage the fibre with a standard marking pen (Niko pen).
Can you give a little more information on what you have tried so far, what the damage has been and is it the cut end that you are trying to mark or the fibre length.
Water based paint should work. Otherwise do it the old fashioned way with a paper tag.
