Re: Question about Sweep or Blend with guiding curves

Pablo, sounds like a blend, but I really need to see the picture.

Another member sent one successfully to alt.binaries.pictures.misc There may be others, as well but since this is an alt.* ng, you'll have no problem. By the way, the actual problem seems to reside with certain news distributors who strip binaries to posts or dump the posts completely. Here is a list of some of the major distributors which carry comp.cad.pro-engineer. Some are identified as 'text-only'. Your isp may be using one of these. This question is complicated by the fact that Usenet is a 7-bit, text-only system and has only uneasily accomodated itself to being used to transmit and store binary data (but not as binary data). It is still controversial, in spite of Tim Berners Lee's computing revolution with the invention of HTML and by virtue of it, the WWW. He apparently got tired of the restrictions of ngs as well as the limitations of ftp, telenet, etc. He went graphical and thereby increased access and availability of networked computing a million fold. This may be another anniversary we should be celebrating as it seems to me that this was also approximately ten years ago. Hard to believe so much has changed in a mere decade.

I've also added the same search results on comp.cad.pro-engineer as an attachment. It is a text file, so we will see if it attachments, per se, that are forbidden by my news service or just binary attachments.

P.S. to previous post: The post with the text file attachment did not go through. News.cox.net (or whoever is their news feed) is apparently dropping any post with any kind of attachment. I'm still trying to get an answer from them on their policy and practice.

Trying something different...Ive put a small attachment (dxf file) , and using Agent I've selected to put the file inline, as opposed to an attachment. If this goes through you may have to do the same thing, as I know my ISP drops attachments as well.

Pablo,

From the sound of it the way I would make this surface would be an advance surface using the boundaries then select blended. But It is hard to say without see a picture.

Good Luck, Jonyfred

At first I thought Pablo might need a boundary blend too, but then he's talking about parallel sections. So, could also be variable section sweep or possibly rotational blend. But, yes, I could definitely tell from the curves and sections.
