So we can assume that Aerotech is not only producing, but doing so fast enough to catch up?

I assume that means our local hobby shops will be getting their orders.

GOOD.

How do you feel about those prices?

Famine pricing... will we ever see 3 E or F reloads in a pack for less than $10 again? Or, how about a pair of G for less than $15?

Ugh!~

It is a famine, however, so I blame the famine, and not the retailer... I would probably price accordingly in the same circumstances. Definitely makes EX look more and more appealing every day... I now understand that old guy down the street, and his attitude, and why he prefers 'lone ranger' custom scratch build of every aspect of rocketry, from carbon fiber tubes to home-made electronic systems. I will have to chat with him.

Two G's for less than $15??? You must be talking about the "just barely over an F" Econojet G's.

Negative... G reloads.

No kidding. It is the way it should be. On the market enough to bring the price down and make it an accessible hobby... not a pipe dream.

Full retail is NOT famine pricing. It is STANDARD price.

The only "correct" price to a consumer is free.

This is why people log onto rmrto brag about getting more than they paid for from small vendors (free products, extra perks). Every time I see such a post I KNOW that small vendor is on a slippery slope to failure.

Support this SMALL industry by CHOOSING to pay FULL RETAIL.

Ah, I see. I've never bothered with the low power reloads myself, so I tend to think in terms of single-use.

Depends on how you define accessible, I guess. Everyone has their own level as to how much they can afford for rocketry. We'd all love to have cheap motors, but even Estes motors cost more per newton second than an Aerotech G64 reload.

For example, at Great Lakes Hobbies a three-pack of Estes D12's costs eight bucks. There's roughly 20ns per motor in a D. So that's 8 dollars divided by

60, equals 14 cents per newton second.

A G64 reload from the same dealer costs ten bucks and produces about 120ns of thrust. Divide 10 dollars by 120ns, equals roughly 9 cents per newton second.

So even at current market prices, AT reloads are a bargain compared to Estes stuff, despite the fact that Estes sells millions of motors per year.

Not enough to support policies that would result in them.

Simple. Supply and demand.

Yep. Freebies cost the vendor money. Money that has to be made up somewhere, usually by increasing the prices for everybody. Otherwise the business goes under.

But you almost never hear public comments from the customers who buy product and get it exactly as ordered in a timely manner. Only the ones who get "freebies". Very disappointing. Especially when you hear later that they are going out of business. Then the customer bemoans the loss of the business, not realizing that their "freebies" contributed to the demise. Some don't even care, as long as they got theirs.

Luckily my customers don't fit this mold. My customers are the best! Thank you for your support, past, present, and future.

This should be in the FAQ.

You are right! People don't often take the time to mention the great service they have gotten.

Personally, I've had excellent service from a variety of vendors in the USA, Canada and The Netherlands. All of them have been timely and delivered exactly what I ordered without error. In some cases they provided on site support at launches or brick and mortar shops. In alphabetical order:

Advanced Rocketry Group - Mississauga, ON All Hobbies - Puyallup, WA Apogee Components - Colorado Springs, CO Art Applewhite Rockets - TX Binder Design - Salem, OR Canadian Association of Rocketry - National Organization Caveman Rocketry - The Netherlands Cesaroni Technologies Inc. - Gormley, ON Coast Rocketry - North Vancouver, BC Creative Hobbycraft - New Westminster, BC EMRR - Cyberspace, USA Extreme Rocketry - Las Vegas, NV Gemini Rocketry - Lethbridge, AB High Power Rocket Technologies - Calgary, AB Perfectflite - Amherst, MA ROL Auctions - Cyberspace, USA Shadow Composites - Lake Tahoe, NV Spherachutes - Greeley, CO US Rockets - Claremont, CA West Coast Hybrids - Victoria, BC

I don't have a single complaint about any of them. Most are small operations and many are near full time jobs that are done while the principal holds down another full time job. One thing I remember quite clearly was you (Mike Fisher) taking the time to send me a RockSim file of a PML rocket. Nothing to gain but the satisfaction that you did someone a favour. (And, a future customer)

Good service does deserve recognition. Kudos to the above and anyone who I have missed (who will be slightly annoyed right now :-) ) O.K. Time to take more medication. :-)

I saw a kit on Saturday. Picked up in person by a club member. She relayed some info about how they accept input/suggestions from modelers and use it to improve the kits.

Kit was amazing.
