Does anybody know where I could get some BT-56 tubing?? I have the tail end of an Estes Maniac that is in perfect condition even after a shock cord failure streamlined it in from over a thousand feet onto moist hard ground. When it hit the ground it sealed off against the soil and accordioned, then the compressed air trapped inside blew the tube out with explosive force; sounded like a twelve guage going off from 100 yards away or so. The tube was a total loss but the rear end is fine, and so is the nose, but it would only be about four inches long as is. I've looked everywhere I can think of and can't find any BT-56 (not BT-55, this is the old Astrocam and Delta II size tubing that's a hair bigger). I know Estes still makes it because I've seen it used in the Eliminator kit which is exactly the same as the Maniac and Delta II just different (tacky- not that it matters) colors.
While I'm asking, I'm also looking for a PNC-80(A) nose cone for a project I've got in my head. All I can find in shops or online is the
80b which is the giant Big Bertha round one, like a Trident missile or Tomahawk cruise missile. The 80A is the nose cone from the old Phoenix kit. I know they still make it too because I've seen it in the Executioner kit and I think in the X-prize Canadian Arrow knockoff V-2 kit. Before anybody suggests 'kitbashing' the Executioner is about a $40 kit and I think the knockoff V-2 is close to it.
What I REALLY need is contact info for a company that is serious about providing a broad range of parts. Estes obviously isn't anymore from what I've seen of their website and catalog. Thanks! OL JR :)
