Estes Phoenix Weight

Anybody _ever_ build an Estes Phoenix at the design weight of 6.6 oz?

After I put a chute bucket into mine, I found it weighed about 9.5 oz. Did not check before hand.

My son picked up a Phoenix on clearance to use the parts and I put them on the scale - almost 8 oz.

Am I missing something or is 6.6 oz just a fantasy number?

The listed kit weights and the max rating their engines can lift, often seem to be very loose estimates. It's very hard to build a stock Estes Saturn V that weighs less than 15 ounces and a single D isn't supposed to lift that, but it does.

The combined max lift for 5 C6's is 20 ounces but several times I have launched a Saturn V that weighs waaay over 20 ounces with no problem.

The numbers are not exact. I think they use a dart board for estimates. ; )
