Well, there's the Prime (sic) Number Explorer, Peter ALways Fractal Explorer (I built one, he never did), and my proposed Fibonacci Explorer. 0 1 1 2 3 5 8

I remember watching the Junkyard Wars installment in which the contestants had to build cannons. They were fired at a British Army firing range by a British Army Officer. They would countdown prior to each firing as such:
10-9-8-7-6-4-3-2-1, skipping 5..When asked by the host why they intentionally skipped the number 5, the officer responded that when heard over static-ey field phones, or radios, it was often mis-heard as the word FIRE, so they began skipping it in the countdown to avoid the obvious confusion.
Now, *that's* resourceful!
tah
5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0.9, 0.89, 0.889, 0.8889, whatever.
The procrastinating rocketeer's count down.
13/3, 11/3, 10/3, 7/3, 9/7 ...The irrational rocketeer's count down.
Now see what you've started! ;)

Hmmm. How 'bout Zeno's Paradox countdown......
"10, 5, 2.5, 1.25, 0.625, 0.3125, 0.15625..........."
(fifteen minutes later)
"Hey, where the hell y'all going?....

Ahem. Those would be rational numbers, no?
But they are repeating, tho :)
My favorites are the sevenths:
1/7=0.142857142857142857142857142857142857142857 2/7=0.285714285714285714285714285714285714285714 3/7=0.428571428571428571428571428571428571428571 4/7=0.571428571428571428571428571428571428571428 5/7=0.714285714285714285714285714285714285714285 6/7=0.857142857142857142857142857142857142857142 7/7=1Doug Actually kinda enjoy long division...

What's astounding about this thread is the sheer variety of amusing available unused countdowns!
Boy, it's been a LONG time since I heard any one mention gray code. I wonder how many RMR readers even know what you're talking about.
