Food For Thought --- BATF

I think we must be one sore pimple on the BATF's butt for them to go to so much trouble to shut us down....

A similar story hit the news here in Chicago. The top, or one of the top dealers is right here outside Chicago. But they've been checked out numerous times, and are 100% legit. The article quoted uses the term "scofflaws" which they are not. Selling a gun that is eventually used in a crime does not make one a scofflaw. It makes one a victim. Most of these places are squeaky clean, do the background checks, etc. They just can't control what happens to their products after they are sold. Some are stolen after being legally bought. Others are resold several times and make their way to the wrong hands. And being a very large dealer, they are going to have a large number of their product in the market.

The article also fails to mention what crimes these guns are involved in. Is someone simply arrested for having an unregistered firearm in their possession. Does a customer failing to register a firearm in their local town count as a violation against an out of state dealer that fully complied with federal and local laws where the gun was sold?

Do we see investigations of car dealers who sold vehicles that are used in bank robberies, kidnappings, or huge auto accidents?

Bob, Exactly this article is full of innuendoes and misleading information. As a former FFL dealer all firearms had to be inventoried at ALL times and full records had to be kept. Did anyone commit a crime that would deny them a firearm before these horrible crimes?. If not there was no reason to deny the sale, if there was who screwed up the ATF, FBI, local law enforcement for not stopping this on an instant check? I hate to say this but once again the Liberal Media has put forth their true colors. Sieg Heil!

Just glancing at the header causes me to think of chicken. Dad gum it Kurt! ; ) RMR really infiltrates your way of thinking. Where can I get some of that foil Ray is using? Was it shiny side out? Dull side in? Hot side hot, cold side cold, 2 all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, on a bird seed bun?

Randy

P.S. You all do know that Kurt was "Chicken Man" back in the late 60's, right? He came on right after The Monkees.

I'm not suggesting to do something illegal but think about this. If they allow the gun dealers to keep selling guns to criminals, what makes anyone think that they will try to enforce anything against rocketry? Just a thought.

That article isn't exactly truthful. Think about it. If they had that many violations in addition to being connected with the D.C. murders, the ATF, FBI, and every other alphabet agency in the U.S. would have shut them down months ago for the huge publicity gains they could use to push for more federal money.

They don't allow it. The article is very misleading.

Given how TRA and NAR have interacted with them for the past 10 years I find it not a single bit surprising.

Not just a van, but a rented van. Now they have to pay a deposit on each of the millions of cars they rent.

You're kidding? I'm one of those who actually remembers that show... (I think...)

Speaking of the Monkees, I saw a play at our local theater recently (Orange County Performing Arts Center), where the main supporting male lead was none other than Micky Dolenz! He actually did a GREAT job, sang very well, and I got a real kick out of seeing him perform as an 'actor' rather than a 'Monkee'.

As tempting as this is, no, that was NOT me.

Randy is a funny guy. Real funny.

That was Randy getting beaned in the head with a rubber chicken.

OHHHH!!!! A chicken abuser! ; )

I've been closely watching the photos from Mars and I've seen some strange things lately over on abmr, but if we see a chicken in one of those background shots, we'll all know where it came from.

I remember the "Chicken Man" from radio station broadcasts, and "The Monkees" TV program. Was there a TV Chicken Man program as well?

Rasberries! ;)

Yes but the radio voice and the tv actor were 2 different people.
