History of Model Rocketeer magazine

heres what I got so far....

From 2/67 till 7/69 it appeared in the American Modeler/American Aircraft Modeler magazine..

I got the 2/67 date from the NAR milestones info in a Rocketry Collectors Journal.

From 8/69 to 1/72 it appeared in the Model Rocketry magazine of George Flynn's

From 1/73 to 6/84 it was a standalone magazine

In 7/84 it became the American Spacemodeling magazine

So my 1st question is this: Was it published between 2/72 and 12/72 as a standalone magazine?

Also according to the Rocketeers Collectors Journal it states that Volume 7 Number 2 of the Model Rocketeer was published in 7/65....

Now if you assume that it was published 12 times a year on a monthly continously with no interruptions, then Volume 1 #1 appeared approcimately in 7/59....

somebody may want to do the math on this ..

Can anybody provide any additional information about this?

Any information that anybody might be able to provide will be greatly appreciated.

TIA

I don't know about 2/72, but I have issues of the stand alone Model Rocketeer from 3/72 to 1/73.

I found the following do a groups.google.com search of RMR, I don't know how accurate it is :

The original NAR newsletter with a very checkered publishing history. The first issue was published with a cover date of February 1958 with G. Harry Stine as editor/publisher. It was published as a freestanding newsletter from 1958 to 1960 after which it was published as an insert in *American Aircraft Modeler* magazine. The last appearance there was in the July, 1969 issue when it moved to the fledgling *Model Rocketry Magazine* (q.v.). After MRM folded it was again published stand-alone starting in June, 1972 and gradually expanded to a magazine style format. It became *American Spacemodeling* (q.v.) in July 1984, although there continued to be a section called "The Model Rocketeer" for the NAR president's column and other association news. In the Spring of 1995 it was restarted in newsletter format published in parallel to the magazine (which had since been renamed *Sport Rocketry*)

Well, my stand-alone Model Rocketeer issues start with Feb 1972. It contains 'Technical Feature: Calculating the Center of Pressure of Ogive Transitions' by James Barrowman, 'International Team Selection Criteria', a section directory and 'Section News'. Looks like Model Rocketeer as a stand-alone picked up right where Model Rocketry Magazine left off. I have monthly issues from Feb through the end of 72.
