  1. Motors Use only certified commercially made rocket motors. DO NOT DISMANTLE, RELOAD, OR ALTER A DISPOSABLE OR EXPENDABLE HIGH POWER ROCKET MOTOR, NOT ALTER THE COMPONENTS OF A RELOADABLE HIGH POWER ROCKET MOTOR OR USE THE CONTENTS OF A RELOADABLE ROCKET MOTOR RELOADING KIT FOR A PURPOSE OTHER THAN THAT SPECIFIED BY THE MANUFACTURE IN THE ROCKET MOTOR OR RELOADING KIT INSTRUCTIONS.

Go to the TRA web page. Click on MOtors, and go to Motor Testing. Click on the NAR-TRA combined list. The Kosdon motors are listed!

Whoops!

The ruling against Tandems came about after this time. Somewhere in late

1978 or early 1979 IIRC. ONE manufacturer said "we don't approve of this use". If another motor manufacturer were to come along with a different position, tandem motors could return. And I'm sort of surprized they never surfaced in Internats competition, where the rules don't apply.

Funny, but the reverse also caused problems. Many competitirs, including Alan and I were DQed from an event 2 days after it was flown for using booster motors to deploy recovery systems.

That's funny!

Let's keep in mind a safety code is a club rule. Those who have been removed, refused, or those with the wisdom not to join, those rules simply do not apply to.

I never made BP motors for cert.

Are you advocating the use of procedures deemed unsafe?

Or, are you saying it's o.k. to be unsafe?

Then I guess you're screwed.

No, he's advocating that "outside compliance with a club rule" not be viewed as equivalent to "deemed unsafe" (even if that club rule happens to be supposedly a "safety rule").

Suppose he is? You got a PROBLEM with that, TWERP??

-dave w

Are sure you have not met him? You seem to know him well :)

Jerry; Some how I knew you would quibble.. Are you really so stupid??

Fred

That's a good point Bob. If they don't apply for internats, then they are just as fine not applying at the many launches that don't need the Nar insurance rules as well.

now what about removing ejection caps for delayed staging say you ?

in 1974 it was ok and now it's not ?

oh, someone's going to say in 1974 the caps were paper and now their clay.

so what, a caps a cap right ? and to your point, ANY MODIFICATION OF A MOTOR

is a modification of a motor right ?

paper or clay, what changed ?

I'll tell you what changed, the pink book lawyers became safety code lawyers as well.

to the point the stuff in the 80s started happening and people had to form a corporation to take advantage of the NFPA 1122 rule that exempted corps. from the rocket rules ;-)

Yes, 13mm A boosters for A super roc. and ingenious method to deploy recovery at the right time I must say so my self.

the fact you got DQ in retro is almost in heard of ?

did the guys holding on to their A superrocs while the launch button was pressed to keep them stable from crimping get DQed since they were violating the 15 foot rule ?

Now Bob. Think back just a few years.

did the E streamers get DQed for flying into the clouds ?

here is the brass tacks. Safety rules are broken at NAR events when they feel like it, and they are applied when they feel like it.

BTW, same at TRA launches.

another fact, Corporations break their rules when they feel like it and enforce them when they want to. ditto for the Government .

I have faced the fact that rules are broken as a fact of life.

It's over FRED. GET OVER IT. KILLFILE ME.

Do you have new information to share with the readers of RMR?? What's over??

BTW, removed you from the kill file, so I can continue to address your lies and deception, as I feel the need.

Fred

You're being as vague as Dave Grayvis about what actual "lies and deception" are involved. I'm sure you're glad to be in such _excellent_ company...

-dave w

I didn't know you cared. Vague, need I repeat every fact, in every post?? BTW, I do believe/understand Jerry is not being open, concerning new information.. Whisper in his ear, maybe he will tell you.. (;-)

Fred

Fred

I bet he refuses to address the issue, but attacks you personally.

I have no obligation to you, what so ever.
