Loki Research Granted EX Numbers From US Dept. of Transportation June 2, 2004 Web posted at: 5:03 PM EDT

(ROL Newswire) -- Loki Research has received its first set of EX numbers from the US Department of Transportation and is now authorized to manufacture and ship propellant. "It's been a long road and this is a major milestone," says Jeff Taylor, president of Loki Research (a company with fewer than two employees). "We'll be demonstrating several future products at the upcoming LDRS 23 launch. The 38mm reloads are first in line for certification, 29mm motors will follow, and then larger motors. It's going to be a great summer!"

Wow, that's great news. It caught me totally off guard. It wasn't preceeded by 5 years of whining and crying on rmr, name calling, finger pointing, NAR/TRA bashing, obfuscation, or anything like that, all of which I thought was part of getting legal based on what I've learned here.

Hmmm...will miracles never cease ?

Doug (Congrats to Jeff. Can't wait to see the products.)

Hey why can't Jerry Irvine do the very same thing with US Rockets Motors? Oh yeah, he is a convited felon ... NO LICENSING FOR JOO!

Be careful Jeff, Irvine may try to trip you up and undermine your business as you have one and he ... well he has other pending matters :)

Oh man, do some folks have to warp _everything_ into some kind of rant about Jerry?

Our recent efforts have reduced the cost to do so by 70%

"Our recent efforts"? Remember; "less than two employees"

Just how did you reduce the cost, by shipping motors as "model aircraft parts"?

What name did you give to the CSFM? So I can check the facts.

But you should be able to get his aluminum and graphite. Nitrate and sugar isn't THAT hard to find. AP may be a tricky task though.

Do they use road flares in the UK? I keep thinking of them as a potential "contingency source" of rocket oxidizer... the fuels (sawdust and sulfur) water-insoluble; the oxidizer is KP and is what would come out in an aqueous extraction of the contents. (I know there's a method for conversion of NaP to AP - does it work for KP -> AP? At any rate, KP is known to be something of a useful rocket oxidizer in itself, of course.)

The red color is from strontium as either the carbonate or the perchlorate. (If the latter, your extraction would yield an oxidizer mixture that might give a red color to the exhaust jet.)

(I haven't experimented, it's just sort of an ongoing chain of thought: how could one make a rocket out of common household materials?)

Maybe, maybe not, but making them into a rocket motor would be illegal in the UK.

Any pyrotechnic reworking is considered a "factory" in the UK.

On the other hand you can have 2000 lb of fireworks in your bedroom :)

Dave it is clear the man is mentally ill ... no REALLY. All the signs point to accute paranoid schizophrenia. He is sick and we should take it easy on the poor man ... no REALLY.

There is no CSFM ... there really is no "right to use/ship" ... its all is his little demented head. All the email aliases; Iz, Mohoammed, Mark, and others ... the man's total lack of shame and disregard for the inpact of his actions upon others (sociopathic indications) makes it obvious something is wrong in his brain.

We shouldn't be so harsh on Mr. Irvine. Instead, we need to be more understanding and compassionate towards him.

Mr. Irvine, God loves you and so should we :) You can't help yourself but through us, maybe we can help you.

I have a back ground in clinical physicology and I have seen plenty of his types.
