1/48 Darne MG's???

Anyone know the history of Darne mg's used in aircraft? Was it a derivative of the Lewis?

I am looking for the guns in 1/48 scale

I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that the darne was a licensed Browning, chambered for the French 7.5 mm cartridge.
