32lb stock should be right in terms of thickness. Should be easily available from a good artists' or craft supply store in A4 format, but that's smaller than all the sizes you're looking for (you should get away with it for letter size though, A4 is just under a 1/4 inch narrower and slightly longer). Given a choice, you'll be best off with hot pressed (HP) stock. You could either ask them to get the stock in for you, or maybe use a good image editor to rearrange things to fit A4 sheets. Without knowing the file format you're working with, it's hard to make specific recommendations, but if you don't have access to Photoshop or Illustrator, take a look at the freeware GIMP from
formatting link
which will handle just about any bitmap file, and quite a number of vector types too.

Ray, Do you have an Xpedx store in your area? If so, they have a nice white cardstock called Hammermill Color Cover in several heavier weights. It has a nice sheen to it and prints well in my Okidata Color Laser Printer. You can buy it buy the sheet or reem there. If you don't have Xpedx stores there, try to google Hammermill Color Cover. It's available in 8 1/2 x 11 and 11 x 17 so you could trim it to size to whatever you need. I use it all the time in my business to make color line cards and wall charts. It's great stuff.
Try Kinko's! They print cards; may be willing to sell you a few sheets or a whole package. (I've also had luck at Office Max, etc. - at their copier department.)
One "size" you didn't mention is the IBM punch card. I find this EXCELLENT modeling material. It is well coated with a plastic coating so it will not absorb moisture. As a result it primes and paints easily. Even partially used ones can be a source of card stock. I finally found someone who sent me a five pound box of them, which has lasted me several years and I still have probably four pounds left.
They are obsolete, of course, so hard to find :-(
I find many office supply stores sell a coated card stock that will handle ink jet images. I think it is mostly for cover stock. This is what I use for less critical uses, and it is 8.5 x 11, so no trimming needed for printer.
