---------------------------------------------------------- United States Air Force: History and Guide to Resources

This E-Book provides a chronological history of the USAF from 1947 through September 2002, giving a year-by-year listing of combat operations, organizational changes, selected crashes, introduction and retirements of aircraft types and weapons systems, record flights, and military space activities.

An Image Gallery contains nearly 300 images, covering many of the aircraft and weapons systems used by the USAF over the past half century. Many of the images are close-in detail shots that will be of interest to scale modelers.

The extensive Guide to Resources lists hundreds of information sources dating back to the late 1940s, covering books, newspapers, and magazines. This is organized into sections dealing with specific aircraft and weapons types, conflicts, and general reference works.

Also included on the CD-R is a bonus E-Book, U.S. Nuclear Weapons: History and Guide to Resources, detailing the atomic-armed missiles of the United States from the 1950s to the present day. This work also has an extensive bibliography.

Dataview#1: F/A-18 Hornet in United States service

The Dataview series is devoted to covering aerospace subjects in an electronic format for the enthusiast and modeler. Each volume will cover a particular subject in a concise yet thorough manner, mixing test with high resolution images, as well as listing references in print and electronic media to encourage further research.

The initial entry in the Dataview series covers the F/A-18 Hornet - the multi-role workhorse of the US Navy and Marine Corps. The design originated with Northrop as the P.530 in the early 1970s, flew as the YF-17 several years later, and entered service in the early 1980s as a naval aircraft built by McDonnell Douglas. Today, the evolved F/A-18E/F Super Hornet is being built by Boeing to re-equip Navy squadrons as a replacement for the F-14 Tomcat. This e-book, in .pdf format on CD-R, covers the Hornet's development and service history, and includes over 100 high resolution images, all in color. Many of these are close-up detail shots useful for modeling. An extensive bibliography lists magazine, book, and web resources.
