Back in the '60s we used to joke that the strange noise coming from VWs under acceleration was the squirrels complaining about having to run so fast on the belt.

The best one is when someone turns up riding a Harley-Davidson, "Oh, you brought the beetle today!"
Works best if they are riding an older HD, one with the leg-shortening kick-start. Current ones with their electric starters seem no different to a rice-burner.
