I have limited research material on this Sherman adaptation. Can anyone verify which Sherman variants would have been used for this operation? I know that they were very limited and that the 738 and 739 Tank Batt. used them along with the 6 Armored Div. The only shots I have show it mounted to a M4A1 with the

Can anyone verify : which Sherman variants would have been used for this operation? : A very good photo in "Searching for Perfection" shows the T1E3 mounted to a 75mm M4A1, and apparently some sort of push plate arrangement, because right behind it is a 75mm M4 with the field applied armor kits (sponsons, turret cheek).
