New F-14 build

Just got my new F-14 from hobby surplus. Its a 1:1 scale. Got a few dings and scratches, lots of parts to put together. Will take a while. Was in the scratch and dent section. But for $29999.99 was a steal.

Problem is, I got two different tails. Does anybody have any good reference for which I should paint it at? Should I do a VF 213 or VF

13?

I plan on entering it at the IPMS this summer. I don't see anything in the rules about how much plastic the airplane should contain. Does anybody have any suggestions.

I should take best of show, since those judges can't ding me for scale.

I'm moving the wife out as I'll probably need both bedrooms, the living room and the basement for this project. I had to knock a hole in the window but, its spring up here and should't get cold anymore.

Should I put an aviator in the cockpit or just by the airplane? Anybody know where I can find a 1:1 scale aviator? I'd like something modern but there are a lot of civil aviation types and they don't fit this airplane.

Also, any place I can get Testor's dull coat by the bucket? I could probably swab it on with a mop.

You got reamed! Our local Hobbytown was selling it as a twin pack and all purchases entered a drawing to win the USS Enterprise when it's decommissioned.

James May from the BBC has got one, but it's in WWII flying gear and anyway it's in his 1:1 Spitfire.
