No sanding putty?

There's an article by Andy McCrabe in SAMI Vol 9, Iss 9 about building a Revell F-5B. In it, he writes, "(Tip; if you use plastic filler you may or may not know that nail polish remover on a cotton bud cleans this filler off very nicely without damaging the plastic. It also means that you do not remove any panel lines as a result of sanding the surplus filler away.)"

Does anyone know what kind of plastic putty he's talking about? Is is Milliput or Squadron Green, or what? This sounds almost too good to be true. Smoothing putty with no sanding?

Anybody got any comments/ideas on this topic? Jerry 47

Nail polish remover (the type with acetone) removes Tamiya putty nicely.

Had no problem.... might be a too strong remover... I fooled with some straight acetone and had some marking, but not too much, and it blended out...
