OTOT: Sacramento Freeway Sign

was wondering if this was some kind of a joke....but on the way to Tahoe

I passed a road sign as 80 passed Sacramento with the mileage for Reno, Tahoe and

Ocean City, MD 3036 miles.

Any Sacto folks seen this regulation California road sign???

No one in the car could figure out the significance of Ocean City, MD....

thx - Craig

No idea if anybody in Caltrans has a sense of humor (I doubt it) but exactly where did you see the sign (yeah, I know, 3036 miles from Ocean City) ? We'll be up there in a couple weeks.

There is a sign as you turn onto US 50 West in Ocean City, MD which states Sacramento, CA 3036.

Well, at least the two of them agree!

we were coming from the Bay Area. Must have been near where you pass downtown, probably the first sign that listed the mileage to Tahoe (the kids only asked

567 times....)

The signs are at both ends of Hwy 50. There is a fine line between "Hobby" and "Mental Illness."

The signs are at both ends of Hwy 50. The one on the Sacramento end is in West Sacramento, west of the Sacramento River bridge on I-80 or could be whats called Business 80 or the Capitol City Freeway. Caltrans changes the name about

About 45min from my house is the beginning (or end) of Interstate 40 in Wilmington, NC. At it's beginning there is an official sign that gives the mileage to Barstow, CA.
