Squadron makes a set of vacuformed canopies for that kit. Cost is $2.50 for a pair of them at
Depends on how much time and effort you want to spend. Theoretically, you could re-assemble the canopy, fill in any cracks and such with putty, smooth it over, and then make a sillicon rubber mould from the result (which wouldn't be usefull as a canopy any more, on account of no longer being transparent), and cast a new canopy in clear resin. Alternatively, you could make a mould for vacforming from the reconstructed canopy, and vacform a replacement from acetate. On the whole, I think you're better off buying an oftermarket replacement, of getting a new one from Tamiya. You can often get spares for a small price either from the producer or the distributer.

Best bet - you also usually get two per pack...in case of...er..breakage.
Yeah, that's usually how many come in a pair...... ;)
The Tamiya clear parts always seemed a bit on the thick side anyway.

And if you can't find a canopy (note another poster gave details of an aftermarket one) then you can always do what I do, convert it to a damaged aircraft on it's way home from a mission where it took a few hits!

Or do what the airlines do, "Deferred to next heavy check"
SIGH!!!!
I just discovered that I've broken the center canopy section of a 1:48 Hasegawa F-104 that I've been laboring over. And Squadron doesn't seem to do that one!
DOHHHHH!..
You could try asking Dragon Models USA, their US distributor, for a replacement: snipped-for-privacy@dragonmodelsusa.com ; or Hasegawa directly if you don't get any response from them: snipped-for-privacy@hasegawa-model.co.jp .
Al,
This is just between you and me, but I just pulled an old Monogram 1:48 F-104 from the mountain up in the attic, and it' looks like the center canopy section from that will work, especially since I'm not closing the canopy.
But don't tell anyone my secret. OK!
