Salut mon grenouille de l'air
Just a couple of notes for you Chris:
(a) It is Canadian Armed Forces not Canadian Army Forces.
(b) This Vertol Model 42 (Piasecki) CH-125 (H-21B) still carries most of the Royal Canadian Air Force paint scheme. It's current paint job c'est "tres terrible"! It was taken on strength with R.C.A.F. on the 30th of May 1956 originally having a bare metal fuselage. The helicopter was later sold to Dominion Helicopters (Canadian civil registration CF-JJP) where it flew missions to support the military's Mid-Canada Line.
It was taken back on strength with the R.C.A.F. on the 2nd of September 1965 as R.C.A.F. s/n 9642. This helicopter was withdrawn from operational service with the Canadian Armed Forces on the 17th of June 1971 and subsequently struck off strength on the 12th of January 1972.
(c) The Canadian Armed Forces stood to effective the 1st of February 1968 after the integration of the Royal Canadian Air Force, Royal Canadian Navy and Canadian Army.
Cheers...Chris
