Got the bikes on the shelf at the moment...one of my buds has me back into playing guitar. We've been getting together regularly once a week, and so far, he's in the lead buying equipment...but I'm catching up. I bought a Line 6 Pod XT Live and managed to convince myself I now need a laptop computer as part of my guitar rig - it's USB interfaceable, and I can get tones on-line.

SOOOO...a couple days ago I ordered a 15" custom Powerbook direct from Apple...maxed the memory and the drive. Between the Pod, the Powerbook, my guitar, and a bit of software, I'll have a recording studio undr my arm now.

AND...I think it's about time to get another axe...Merry Christmas!

I owned a thumper - a Yamaha DT 400 - was my first bike. Got stolen...

Big bike dilema right now is trying to revive my '98...dosen't seem to want to fire up in the cold - can't blame it, really. I've been thinking it's set too rich for some time though. Just need to do some minor tweeking. The '03 is still perky.

I really think it's just a matter of mixture - I hear the techs like to set up bikes fat on the carburation, and it has no problem in the warm weather...and it tends to make some big puffies when I rap the throttle. If I lean it off a tad I think it'll behave a bit better. My '03 is notablely leaner, but it also has shorter pipes. Just a bit of tuning required, I think.

We're all over the place musically...our drummer is just learning to play, so were choosing stuff with simple drum lines without too many breaks - but nothing I'd call "coherent"...Black Crows, Stones, Zep, Bush, Marcy Playground, Weezer, Van Halen...see what I mean?..

Not to mention that my new toy has me wanting to get back to writing/arranging and recording. I have some software drums, so once I get the Powerbook I imagine I'll be doing a lot of riffing. I'm pretty sure I can lay down basic rythem tracks in Garage Band alone, and then add live guitar later...then I can use that as a practice tool for the guys by playing back through the PA. Hobbies...

yes, i think that's right, too. them v twins sound bad fat, but run well leaned out. i hate hearing the idiots blattting out their pipes because they are ruining the motors.

sounds like fun. every now and then i whack on the old martin....except now it's off to the factory for a tune up. i think the neck is wonky.
