Scottish National 2008 Photos

For those interested I've posted on alt.binaries.models.scale quite a few pictures covering the club stands & competition models from this weekends

2008 Scottish Nationals from Perth.

Hope everyone enjoys them & it was a very good weekend, also managed to curtail spending to two kits, Special Hobby P-39D Airacobra (1/32) that looks a superb kit & after looking at reviews, best to get one while you can as it is limited release.

Other is the Hobby Boss A-10 N/AW, which is scaled down from the Trumpeter

32nd kit& is now regarded as the best around. The cockpit & seats look very, very nice in this kit.

Cheers, Stephen.

Not sure about the Tamiya Hog but do recall making a 48th kit when I was young & it may well have been the Monogram one. Best thing I remember was that huge gun & being able to take the side panel off to see the gun in all its glory. Also had a lovely big clear canopy & with the twin tails & all the armament load options, it was plain impressive & different to everything else flying around in the 80's.

Next favourite to that back then was the F5-F twin seat tiger-II which I think was an Italeri offering, no doubt top gun attracting it to me first amongst other things (K.M.).

These days I like a lot of WW2 subjects & bombers starting to attract me, particularly with the new Revell Lancaster, just hope they bring it out in

48th as the Tamiya one is getting a bit long in the tooth now. I do however plan to get the Revell 32nd Ju-88 due in October (I think).

As to the file sizes of the show pictures, I kept the camera to a low setting but felt it had to be a bit lower still & using MS picture manager it made it too small, but still acceptable. If anyone needs more detailed photos I can definitely provide a better resolution, just drop me a line & I'll post it as attachment.

Cheers, Stephen.

Just finished DL'g - very nice, thanks for posting them. That's a ton of pics! Don't let anyone scare you away from posting large format pics. DSL and cable can handle it. ;-)

I've read good things about the Hobby Boss A-10 in 1/48 (my scale of choice). I'm still good with my Monogram early-Hog, but when it's time to do a later Warthog that'll be my choice.

I never built the Tamiya Warthog - did it suck muck as bad as the reviews said?
