US-UK media mail(books)

Had them come before, asked a seller as i have just own some books if they would do it this way(quicker and cheaper than air last time) but where do they, and DO they have to be the pre prinbted long thin books? Is weight not counted, but size of box/books? sounds daft but im sure someone told me that

Is there a website i can give to the US seller so i get the 5 books this way? thanks PS the books are cop books for my model cop cars so its OT i guess and you old timers are pretty helpful!

"Media Mail" (formerly called 'Book Rate') is a domestic service only. Books sent from the US to an international address have to be mailed as either Letter Post or Parcel Post depending on weight. Air or Surface rates are available for both classes of service.

It maybe letter post then, had books arrive in 3 days that way, quicker than even normal air.

I believe there is a printed material rate available for overseas shipping but it involves putting it in a mail sack. I'm not real clear on the specifics, but I did mail some books for my mother to my sister in Australia this way, two bags worth in fact. I do remember that there was an upper limit on weight, around 40lbs, but I think this varies by the destination since they had to look it up for Australia, and it took eight weeks to arrive in Melbourne. The books were first placed into boxes and then into the bags.

Had single books come from US in a preprinted biox for media, i should have kept one for ref thinking about it as the seller didnt know.
