Design help: Split chain guard

I am trying to make a chain guard that can hold thin oil. It very much looks like the guard on a bike chain. It has to be split in an upper and lower part and it must have a oil tight sealing mechanism on the shafts. Cost is an issue, so the sealing can not be a $10,000 solution. The shaft rotates only 1 rpm.

I have not come up with the perfect solution, so any hints, links to solutions etc. is appreciated.

You could make a cast silicone mold of the full perimeter,.. something like this..

I would try and use a standard lip seal and split the case around the seal as on most automotive engines. Modern engines seem to use RTV as the joint sealant and are oiltight pretty much for ever.

Vent the case so there is no pressure buildup. I like to use the vented caps that are on hydraulic tanks. The chain should only dip into the oil for a few links.

Thanks - but cant open this in SW2004 sp01. Can you make an "old" version?
