Exporting Assemblies

I need to import a SW assembly into MDT. SW and MDT both appears to have problems. 1.. MDT will not insert the ".SAT" file SW creates 2.. SW doesn't export STEP files correctly when a sub-assembly were created via the mirrored components. Both MDT and SW import the mirrored assembly mirrored back as the original assembly. 3.. IGES files suck, MDT will not convert the components to parts, therefore I can't represent the assembly on the DWG. I believe the file is just a bunch of lines. Has anyone had these problems also? Is there a work around? I've had better success with the ACIS file in MDT with other packages, but MDT can't read the version SW creates or there is something corrupt in SW's file (something I can edit out or change?).

Any help would be most appreciated.

MDT doesn't support the latest version of ACIS (.sat). In your export options from SolidWorks choose a version of ACIS a couple of steps back. Try version 6.0 or earlier (depends on your version of MDT).

Also if you are having trouble with your assemblies save them as a part first then there should be no constraints to get flipped just a dummy part.
