deleting a configuration preview

How can I remove the preview from the part file? I clicked on a bunch of configurations and now my file is +8 Megs. I plan on using the preview, but just on our standard parts.

Keith,

The easiest way I know to delete the config preview is to do a "save-as" to a new filename, delete the original file, and rename the new file to the original filename.

I am having problems with files not having config previews though. If I have a part such as a bolt that does not have any config previews and I put it into an assembly, everytime I open that assembly I get a message stating that some parts have changed since it was last opened and do I want to rebuild it. Even if I make absolutely NO changes, when I go to close the assembly, it tells me that some parts have changed and do I want to save them. Of course I click yes. But even if I open that same assembly immediately after closing it, I get the same message that parts have changed, do I want to rebuild, blah, blah, blah. And again when I close the assembly (no changes again), it tells me that parts have changed, blah, blah, blah. It will do this over and over. There are no in-context features that is causing this.

If I open the bolt and click through every config and save it (with the previews and huge file size), I will only get those messages the first time I open and close that same assembly. After that, it will open and close like it should with no messages if no parts have changed. If I do a "save-as" on the bolt to eliminate the config previews, it goes back to those same messages when opening and closing the assembly. And of course if you rebuild the assembly then that means your assembly drawing has to be rebuilt as well each time. I did not have this problem in 2003 SP3.0. Everything worked like it should in regards to this matter.

This can be a major PITA if your component has lets say 800-900 configs and you have like oh 1000+ components. I have spoke to my VAR about this but he can't duplicate it. However I can get it to duplicate every time using any file with multiple configs.
