How can I dimension to the outer edge of a radius?

Oct 13, 2004 1 Replies

I'm trying to dimension (in the 2D drawing) the overall length of a part that has a radiused end. I can't get the dimension tool to 'attach' to anything but the centre point. Ditto for trying to dimension up the overall length of a round ended slot.

In my 2D sketch package, I would attach my dimensions to one of the 4 quadrant points, (North South East West).

How can I do that in SW2004 please ?

Select dim, drag from the little green box to the right position

or

select dim, click "more properties" at property manager, select "arc conditions" as desired
