Skills/Abilities: Excellent communication skills, ability to work with others in a team environment, capable of following directions, listen and learn from others and communicate concepts clearly in written and verbal form. Complete CAD skills (preference given to SolidWorks) with a working knowledge of ANSI drafting standards. Computer literacy including Windows and the MSOffice suite.
Education: Minimum: High school graduate Prefer: Two year associate degree in drafting technology or higher
Experience: Minimum: One year working in mechanical engineering environment supporting new product development and sustaining existing designs Prefer: Three years of the above
Responsibilities: Use SolidWorks to design and layout hydraulic systems, electrical systems, frames, structural assemblies and components with 2D drawings and/or 3D models. Extract BOMs and generate exploded views of designs for product manuals. Aids in the construction of prototypes, work with production to implement revisions for existing designs and coordinate with purchasing to procure components for new designs. Ability to work on shop floor as required facilitating documentation of design work.
