Applied Engineering Technology, Inc. / Applied Engineering, Inc., a SolidWorks Reseller in Maple Grove, MN, has an immediate need for a SolidWorks Support Specialist in the Maple Grove, MN office. Under the supervision of the V.P. Engineering Technology, the SolidWorks Support Specialist is responsible for a variety of technical support tasks related to the sale of SolidWorks CAD solutions, including engineering design services. The successful candidate will be experienced in CAD/CAM/CAE, utilizing solid modeling concepts preferably SolidWorks), product design, product sales or applications support, and/or teaching these types of products.
Minimum requirements include: Associates Degree in Design/Drafting or engineering applications utilizing solids modeling and parametrics. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred. Minimum of 500 hours of SolidWorks experience required. Experience with Windows XP software applications and hardware. Working knowledge of other CAD software solutions such as Pro/E, Unigraphics, SDRC Ideas, Mechanical Desktop, etc.
Excellent communication skills are a necessity. Certification as a CSWP is beneficial. 1-3 years in design engineering with demonstrated knowledge of the product development life cycle and release process desired. Machining/machinist experience a plus. Additional experience in product sales, training, and/or applications support preferred. Working knowledge of product data management, Visual Basic programming and/or software implementation would be a plus!
