related to ceramics and composites, testing and characterization
methodologies, high temperature manufacturing/processing,
manufacturing experience, ability to productively interact with
international and domestic colleagues.
Complexity (product diversity) - Focused on development of advanced
ceramic composite materials using a range of precursor materials and
manufacturing technologies. These include C/C, C/SiC, SiC/SiC, SiC/C,
armoring materials, carbon and ceramic fibers, understanding of resin
systems, CVD/CVI, reaction bonding, carbides, and silicates. Requires
ability to support research, attend technical meetings, read
scientific journals and incorporate this knowledge into the
development of materials based on understanding of applications and
customer requirements. Requires knowledge of export control
regulations and ability to function within these constraints.

requirements, conducting technical presentations, and support final
designs.
Support department activities to fabricate and develop new products
and processes, improve production techniques, develop characterization
and test procedures, define and document process parameters and
product specifications.
Ensure processes and procedures comply with all regulatory
requirements including Export Control Regulations, OSHA and internal
HSEQ requirements.
Shared Accountabilities:
Develop a property database for advanced ceramics by coordinating
testing of materials.
Prepare and provide technical direction in the form of detailed work
instructions and designs to technicians.
Provide technical and engineering support with the startup group and
customers.
Support lean and six sigma efforts for production.
Develop and optimize processing parameters for high temperature
processing furnaces, presses, mixers, and other equipment used to
support startup activities.
