Lighting Issues in PW... HELP

I'm in a rteal rush trying to get a rendered animation set up for the weekend and things aren't going well.

I have just gone up to SWX2005 and trying to use the new photoworks is proving to be a nightmare.

I have stripped the lighting in the assembly back to just the ambient light and a spot light and things are way too bright when rendered. I brought the brightness of these right down to near-zero and it was still too bright. I've even turned the lights all off altogether and it's still too bright.

I've checked all the "Off in Photoworks" options, tried adding lights, subtracting lights etc and I can't seem to find what's screwing it up.... there is no extra scene lighting and I'm at a loss to explain where these phantom lights are coming from.

Can anyone help?

Ah, I knew I should have mentioned that and I thought it maybe that initially but.. I ruled it out because of what I saw and I did not have indirect or global illumination on and I just tested again with them on and the lights off and set to 0 and the objects render black so....?

Anyhow, knowing that now, you should be able to get something?

But yeah, the dude implementing the PW2 stuff is and has been yanking our noodles, that's for sure!!

All, just got back a response from SW Corp and...

It's actually a new feature for PW 2005! SW and PW lighting on/off are independent from eachother.

This feature should actually help or at least something I wanted a while back.. It's just going to confuse a lot of PW users initially.

Yes, it's a great feature and I already have an enhancement request regarding the RMB in the PhotoWorks manager. In addition to being able to turn on/off the light, there should be an extra pick item to edit the PhotoWorks specific properties.

Currently, you have to go to the Feature Manager, edit the props of the light, then click on the "PhotoWorks Properties" button. Oh well.
