matrox millennium g450 dual head card...

I just started at a company that is very new to SolidWorks and the hardware it takes to run it. Here is my system info as I started:

Item Value OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 1 Build 2600 System Manufacturer Compaq System Model Workstation W6000 Processor x86 Family 15 Model 2 Stepping 7 GenuineIntel ~2373 Mhz (Dual Xeon) Total Physical Memory 1,024.50 MB Available Physical Memory 615.03 MB Total Virtual Memory 3.40 GB Available Virtual Memory 2.61 GB Page File Space 2.40 GB

With the exception of the video card, matrox millennium g450 dual head, I think it is a pretty good setup. It could use another gig of ram but the video card is what is killing me. What I am looking for is some feedback about the card and suggestions on an alternative. My choice would be at least an NVIDIA Quadro 980XGL or roll into the FX cards. Which is better suited to SolidWorks at this point, the latest Geforce or Quadro card?

I have already encountered unhandled errors, CTD's and extremely slow graphics. Also my zoom factor is not as tight as my Geforce4 Ti4600 at home. I understand the lack of experience and in turn speed that the folks here have at this point but for someone who has been using SolidWorks for many years now it is quite cumbersome to work with inadequate tools. TIA

give the matrox-made for 2d dual head- to the accountancy dept to show em you care about the work they do...and get yourself a nice Quadro - 750 and up for realview compatibility.
