Spherical Mapping in PhotoWorks--- arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhew
Has anyone got a step by step guide on how to do this?
I can not get the poles to line up no matter what I do.

That was the guide I was working through. I can not get the mapping to align not matter what boxes I check or numbers I enter.
After doing a Google search, on this group, I found Ed Eaton was having the similar trouble some time back.

was hoping someone had figured it out.
I have succeeded with the "Enable spherical environment" but was trying for more control with mapping materials to a room-- without any success.

PS have been keeping an eye on your site, looking forward to learning more. Still thinking of switching to Maxwell render - they may update their software more often.
