why is there no events for renaming features. there is an event for components and configurations. but no features. or am i missing somthing

Sean if I understand your question correctly you can rename features in parts.
RMB over a feature in your FM browser, select Feature Properties from the pick list, then rename the feature, or 2 slow clicks with LMB over a feature in FM browser and rename.
You can permanently be prompted to name a feature on creation by going to System Options>FeatureManager > and check the box ' Name feature on creation '
