Art Griffin decals - comments?

Art Griffin offers some decals for unique freight cars, not available from other sources. Apparently he makes his artwork directly from photographs of prototype cars.

Several sets caught my attention for neat projects... Does anyone have comments on the quality and use of Art Griffin's decals?

Mark, I have not used decals offered by Art Griffin directly but I have used those by Cyril Durenberger's Austin Modeling Associates. IIRC Cyril's decals are made for him by Art Griffin. They have been excellent. A standard application of Micro Set and Micro Sol was used over a glossy surface with no problems. Only one application of Micro Sol was needed to get them to lay down perfectly. The white print is thin but opaque.Bruce.

Thanks Bruce, that's the sort of comment I was looking for. I would also like to hear from someone who used a set made from his artwork made d irectly from photographs of prototype cars. ____ Mark

I have used them with poor results. The film tears easily and the lettering is not very sharp. Try one but don't buy more than that.
