Athearn Ready-to-Run F7s

Does anyone know if the updated Athearn F7s that are being released in the "Ready-to-Run" series include the DCC quick-plug, like other newish RTRs?

Unfortunately no. Upon reading your post I inspected the RTR F7 AB set I just purchased in Boston & Maine Mcginnis blue & white. The powered A unit contains the usual Athearn metal wiper dingus bringing DC power from the trucks to the top motor brush. There is no DCC plug in the locomotive and no mention of DCC capability in the inclosed instruction sheet. The insides look just like my older Athearn F7s There are a few improvements, The "superweight" part number 90710 is now blackened so it doesn't show thru the portholes. I used to apply black electrical tape to the older superweights to make them invisible. The windows are now glazed, a small detail I used to add on. The couplers are now Bachmann EZ-mates in a screw on coupler box, an improvement over the clipon coupler box on the old timers.
