G Scale Plastic track and switches

My son loves his Lionel G-scale christmas train from last year. We want to expand the layout keeping the plastic track. What we'd really like is a source for this plastic track with some switches. What we've found are only the metal ones... help! Christmas is returning soon. Any mail order firms for this? It has to be plastic! Thanks all! Brian

Caboose Hobbies in Denver had a few pieces of curved track sitting on the shelf when I checked back in February. Another person had the exact same question. They had no straights and I don't see any listed in their catalog, but things change.

Are you certain the "metal" can't be stripped off to make them plastic? As I recall it seemed almost like brass tinfoil put on top of a plastic rail.

-------------------------------------------------- I believe New Bright makes plastic track. I've seen packages of track at Kaybee Toys and Toys R Us.
