I can't recall specifically anymore -- because I went through so many gymnastics trying to figure the thing out. But testing on short address #3 is probably what I did first since I'm pretty gunshy about DCC installation and I try things one step at a time. If it hadn't run on #3, I don't think I would have progressed to the programming track.
That was the feeling I got as I tried to work things out. And when I tried to manually change all the CVs to the factory defaults (several attempts), that was what I was hoping it would correct.
