VT-5 Detector

Has anyone built and used the VT-5 detector outlined here:

It looks like many of the more modern DCC detectors are going to this style of detector, and this particular circuit has the advantage of being very inexpensive.

I haven't built one but the circuit seems viable. Inductive AC current sensing is nothing new. It might be new in model RR but it has been used in other areas for a long time. Another nice thing about this circuit is that it is totally isolated from the track power. No common grounds, etc.
