It's a mixture of Walthers and Rivarossi technology. Someone else referred to them as "Waltherossi", and that fits.

  1. It's a model of an ATSF 3900 series baggage.
  2. The body is one-piece, with a roof/window insert that snaps into slots in the bottom of the body casting. Sound familiar?
  3. The couplers are mounted as per Walthers practice in a swing mount.
  4. The trucks are plastic side frames with metal wheels pressed onto plastic axels. Several wheels are not fully seated, but are easily adjusted. The side frames have additional details added to them, and are bonded to the bolster.
  5. All underbody detail is molded into the body of the car.
  6. There are dimples for drilling side grabs. Roof and end grabs, however, are molded in. Thick drop grabs on the lower edge of the end, and very thin "L" shape grabs above those, as well as on the roof.
  7. The diaphragm is sprung, as on Walthers cars, but not to the same extent (less travel, it seems to me.)

All in all, for the same money as a Walthers car, I feel a little cheapened, and, somehow, ashamed.
