There was a report on an Italian newspaper website that Rivarossi/Lima intends to file for bankrupcy on 25/7. Apparently the report disappeared shortly after being posted. A suggestion was that the report was made to put pressure on the unions involved.

Dear Traindoc Lima has apparently declared itself bankrupt (as it apparently has a couple of times previous to this) considering the running abilities of the famed Lima pancake motor and the extremely aged moulds it used this comes as no suprise to any British modeller, I have owned a couple of rivarossi steam models (italian prototype) and I could never get them to run properly, and I was later informed that their models were neither 00 nor H0 but some abortion in between..... so no suprise there either, the only regret is that I never bougt a Great Western "Flying Banana" and I doubt if I'll get one now :( Beowulf

This is the major topic on uk.rec.model.rail

Mind you, they don't have many other topics going anyway. :-)
