Looks interesting but surely will take a lot of trees to generate 1KW of power from a hot air engine!
Yes but if the heating system was already burning wood it means you only burn a few more. Like the whispergen and microgen Stirling generators that burn natural gas it's just a means of getting better utility from the house heating system, the electricity just supplements the grid supply during the heating season.
