Yes, we are in the midst of Baqra Eid here (west London) and I think there is something else coming up next week!

Nights are openin' out guys ............
;o))
Fifty two of us Saxons are going to be celebrating Twelfth Night in our reconstruction of a Saxon Longhall on Saturday January 5th. We shall spend the day decorating the hall & cooking over the central hearth then get changed & eat it all! There will be stories and ale, song and bread, mead and cheesecake, meat and dance. The fire will be hot and the night cold & it will be easy to sit that little bit closer to those who trod the earth before us - which is why we bother, after all.
If we are lucky, we'll be able to listen to the wolves howling in the wildlife park next door and (if the night is clear & as the moon will be but a thin crescent), troop outside to admire the planet Mars which will be in apposition. One of our members is an astronomer & can be persuaded to bring his 9" reflector with him...........
On Old New Years Day, we'll take hazel wands and beat our bounds, throwing cyder over a holly tree and loosing an arrow across the hall.
Christmas? Oh yes, we'll do that before we go ;o))
