I have great need of a 1 1/2 Petter M piston. The present project has very badly worn gudgeon pin holes in the piston. I'd obviously like to avoid having an oversize pin made! Can anyone help please

Worn gudgeon pin holes are very common on Scott motorcycle pistons, my father (a keen Scott enthusiast) regularly bores them oversize and then bushes back to standard.

Thanks Nick. I'll see if there is enough meat to make that feasible. This is a heavy CI piston and the gudgeon pin is pinned in the bosses so something hard like Alu-Bronze would be OK I think. I'm guessing that a Scott has an Alu piston. In this case the little end has seized, sheared the retaining pin and thereafter run as semi-floating in the piston bosses!! regards Roland
