As you do, various things have conspired recently to bring me back tolooking at using an indian clone petter cs as prime mover in a combinedpower and heat unit, with the possibility of niche commercialofferings, bearing in mind I have yet to even see an indian cs clonemuch yet bought one as a sacrificial lamb.Research I have done suggests the engine(s) should be shipped over herein parts as all components need a thorough QA strip and clean anyway,and many components need replacing with better quality parts,honourable mentions go here to casting sand still being present insidemotors, weedy injection lines, and over all poor finishing andpresentation. So pukka blueprinting and hand built aka Gardner.The motors themselves are cheap enough to buy to justify the addedinvestment of labour.Similarly coupling them to suitable alternators and so on to produce acomplete heat and power genset unit is no great difficulty.These things _can_ be done, and we end up with a massively durable andreliable heat and power genset that will last generations of heavy dutyuse, quite unlike the horrid stuff you can buy today.Here's the "problem", I think it's a viable idea, after all _I_ wouldhave one, my mate is less than convinced, and thinks my arguments aboutinitial higher capital cost being offset by reliability and ongoingfuel savings etc are likely to fall on deaf ears in a world where thebottom line is bottom dollar as it were.Of course it could well be that someone out there is already doingthis, but I'm hoping that "preaching to the choir" in a stationaryengine group will give me some idea of how well received the idea ofworking rather than show stationary engines is likely to be received,because if we are just going to buy a couple for our own use there isno point going to all the extra time and effort to document everythingand work up all the SOP etc associated with starting up something on asemi-commercial basis.thoughts?

Well, out here on the frontier, hunting (with the resulting need for gutting) is still widely practiced. So we really DO get very good at it. Afterall, so far, no one has tried to take away our kitchen knives. 8-))

As to Guy Fawkes' interest in corresponding with those who are running Caste Iron Curry Listeroids, I did receive a reply from him indicating that he, in fact, would like to be put into contact with such folks. Six folks on the SEL stepped up and offered to share their experience with him. They have been introduced to each other via email.

Hopefully, Guy Fawkes will find this exchange of experience to be useful and will provide feedback to this thread sharing what he learns from these US owners of the Listeroids. I've also been told that Guy Fawkes is John Bunt from Exeter. I always like to have a name to go with the posting "handle."

Main thing that gets peoples backs up in regard to you John, is that you dont know the f*ck what you are talking about, and the nonsense you post on various subjects,suggests you feel that everyone else is as clueless as you are yourself!

As an example you try to portray yourself as a sucessful businessman, but your pathetic "business" according to you fails miserbably after you are trolled on here..............some businessman..............lol

I and a few others did advise him that it was unwise to post his sag advertising his business to every reply he made during the time he was being trolled and allegedly defamed. But he refused to heed the advise out of hand. Unfortunately he paid the price, if only he had listened.
